I have been asked by a lot of people what I eat day-to-day eating NSNG.
Here is an example of an average (work) day for me:
- Coffee with heavy cream
- 2 hard boiled eggs (I boil and peel these the night before)
- Full fat plain yogurt with berries
I drink a lot of water – I never drank soda growing up, I was always a water drinker. I usually drink tea (green, black, whatever) the rest of day if I want warm stuff.
- Big salad (homemade salad dressing – the stuff you buy is loaded with sugar usually)
- Chicken, turkey…some protien with the salad
- Small slice of cheese
- Almonds or other nuts
- Salmon (I like it with pesto + feta on it cooked all melty)
- Roasted Brussels sprouts
- Greens with homemade dressing
The homemade dressing – I never make it the same. I use one of those Good Seasonings bottles that have the V, W, O marked on the bottle and put vinegar (often red wine vinegar) to the V, water to the W, and really good extra virgin olive oil to the O. Then I add spices (I never really do it the same, but one of my favorite ways is Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute, salt, pepper)…I sometimes add a dollop of mustard to make it creamy).
Soooo that’s it!
BUT…I DO break my NSNG rule for fueling in training – I know I can operate in Z2 for a long time fueling on fat, but once I break out of Z2, I need a little something else. At least that’s what I think anyway.
My rule is that I am using minimally processed stuff, so I am not throwing a bunch of crap down my throat.
I am going to talk about that in a little more detail the next post (well, the next post after Wagging Wednesday).
Thanks for reading!
